MuscleTech
is a supplement company and is popular in the bodybuilding world.
Some top pro bodybuilders like Jay Cutler(4-Time Mr Olympia) and
Branch Warren(Mr Olympia Runner-Up) are sponsored by MuscleTech.
MuscleTech has released several products including Mass-Tech,
Cell-Tech and Nano Vapor amongst others. One of the products which
I have used before with success is Mass-Tech so I can vouch of
its effectiveness and recommend it. Mass-Tech is primarily a weight
gainer and it will build muscles plus a bit of fat as well. It's
inevitable to gain some fat when you're bulking up. So if you're
the skinny type of guy or gal, weight gain supplements like MuscleTech
Mass-Tech will help you make some fast weight gain but consistency
is key to get results.
When
to use Mass-Tech?
I
think the best time to use Mass-Tech is post workout when your
muscles are depleted and your body is hungry for nutrients. During
this critical time, your body will be in catabolic mode that is
losing muscles. You'll need a high dose of calories comprising
of fast-acting carbs and whey protein to replenish lost glycogen
stores and repair damaged muscle tissues. The post workout nutrition
is key to put your body back in anabolic mode that is gaining
muscles. A liquid meal is advised for post workout for faster
digestion. If you skip your post workout meal, all your efforts
in the gym will be in vain. If you don't have time to prepare
all your meals for the day, you can add Mass-Tech as a replacement
meal. It can also be used in between meals.
What's
the downside about Mass-Tech?
The
downside is you can finish a tub of Mass-Tech pretty fast considering
the dosage they give you which is 5 scoops per serving. And mind
you, the scoop is quite big. At 5 scoops, you get 1000 calories
of which 168 grams come from carbs, 63 grams from protein, 8 grams
from sugar, 9 grams from fat(of which 5 grams monounsaturated
fats, the healthy kind), 2.5 grams from dietary fiber and you
get several vitamins like vitamin A, C, B12, B6, D3, E, Thiamin,
Riboflavin amongst others.
What
you should know about Mass-Tech Pro Proprietary Blend?
A
major plus with Mass-Tech is the Mass-Tech Pro Proprietary Blend
which consists of Creatine Monohydrate(10 grams), L-Leucine(5
grams), L-Alanine(3 grams), L-Glycine(3 grams) and Taurine(2 grams).
How
many scoops of Mass-Tech are really recommended?
A
7 Lbs tub can give approximately 13 servings at 5 scoops per serving.
To resume, you can have 65 servings in all in one tub of 7 Lbs
if you use only 1 scoop. But just using 1 scoop post workout is
not enough. If you calculate the amount of protein, with just
1 scoop, that's only 12.6 grams of protein(63/5) which is not
enough. You will need at least 2 scoops to get a reasonable 25.2
grams of protein. I think using half of the dosage is the ideal
serving ie 2 1/2 scoops as you still get 500 calories, 31.5 grams
of protein and 5 grams of creatine. Your tub will last longer
at 26 servings instead of 13. The 5 scoops is simply too much
and it will make your shake rather thick and you will need to
add too much liquid to mix it all up.
Can
you rely on Mass-Tech alone?
Relying
on Mass-Tech alone to gain muscle weight is not a good idea but
it will definitely give you an upper edge in adding muscle mass
to your body frame when used consistently. Like the name says,
supplements are just that. They will just supplement your existing
meals and not replace them. Your main focus should be on muscle
building and nutritious foods and eat 4-6 solid small meals every
2-3 hours everyday. If you don't get your nutrition right, weight
gain supplements like MuscleTech Mass-Tech won't produce miracles
for fast weight gain.
Final
Verdict
If you're a hard gainer or an ectomorph, adding Mass-Tech to your
nutrition arsenal will definitely propel your muscle growth and
enable you to make gains like you never did before. Train hard,
eat right and take Mass-Tech and you'll no longer be skinny. But
the best approach to weight gainers is to make your own homemade
weight gainer shakes. You can control what you want to put in
and it's more versatile plus it's definitely cheaper. You just
need to buy a quality whey protein isolate and you can make many
weight gain shakes. Here is a simple weight gainer recipe.
10 ounces of whole milk
1 scoop of whey protein isolate - I recommend Optimum
Nutrition 100% Whey Gold Standard, Double Rich Chocolate, 5 Pound
1/2 cup of rolled oats
1 tablespoon of natural peanut butter
1 frozen banana
Mix everything in a blender. Enjoy.
