In bodybuilding, nutrition is of utmost importance and protein is one of the most essential foods you need to build muscle. Protein is made up of amino acids which your muscles need to grow bigger and stronger. Here is a list of some of the best protein foods for bodybuilding:

Eggs

Eggs are first on the list because for me, eggs are the ultimate protein foods. Inexpensive and versatile, eggs have one of the highest biological values(BV) of all proteins. The BV indicates how fast the protein is absorbed and utilized by your muscles. One large egg provides 6-7 grams of high-quality protein. If you can get free range organic eggs, go for it as they contain omega-3 essential fatty acids. Eggs can be eaten boiled, scrambled, poached, fried, omelette and so on.

Skinless Chicken/Turkey Breast

Skinless chicken or turkey breast are some of the leanest cuts of meat you'll find and they are really good for bodybuilding. Packed with loads of protein, they are simply a MUST in your diet and they are actually the most consumed protein in bodybuilding. You don't need to force yourself to eat bland chicken or turkey breast, you can definitely spice it up with your own seasonings and marinade. The best way to eat them is when their flesh is still moist, so be careful not to overcook as they tend to dry out fast since they are lean.

Lean Beef

Beef has a bad reputation as a protein food because many people associate beef to being fatty. The truth is it depends on the cuts. If you go for a cut like sirloin or tenderloin, it's really lean. Beef is packed with protein, creatine, zinc and many vitamins. Beef can get quite expensive depending on the cuts and if you're on budget, you can try lean ground beef as a cheaper solution.

Greek Yogurt
