Muscle
building supplements are gaining immense popularity in the bodybuilding
world. With so many different brands on the market today, people
think that these supplements are really necessary in bodybuilding.
This is the picture that is depicted to them. But are they really
needed? Here are some reasons why muscle building supplements
are good or bad:
Why
are they good?
Let's
face it, muscle building requires a solid dedication to nutrition
because if you neglect that important aspect of bodybuilding,
you're simply wasting your time plain and simple. Without the
proper food, your muscles won't grow like they should. But one
major drawback is preparing 4-6 solid meals everyday can become
a hassle with time, so sometimes, it's not always easy to have
a real meal. This is where muscle building supplements come in
as they are handy, convenient and versatile.
1st
Reason:
Muscle
building supplements can be used as meal replacement at times
as it's easy and fast to prepare a protein shake for instance.
Just mix the protein powder with some milk, raw oats, fruits and
ice cubes in a blender and you're good to go. There is no need
to cook or anything. You can prepare a meal in a jiffy.
2nd
Reason:
Or
a critical time when they are the most needed is post-workout
when your muscles are depleted and you need a liquid protein meal
for fast repair and rebuild of muscle tissues to transform your
body from catabolic(losing muscle mass) to anabolic(building muscle
mass). Eating a real meal at this particular point in time is
not easy for most people whereas a cold refreshing protein shake
is welcome after an intense workout session.
3rd
Reason:
Furthermore,
muscle building supplements can give you an edge in your training,
supplements like Whey Protein, Casein Protein, Creatine, BCAAs,
Glutamine, Fat Burners, NO2 and Fish Oil for instance can enhance
the muscle building process. Get more detailed information on
these muscle building supplements here.
Why
are they bad?
1st
Reason:
Due
to their handiness and convenience, many people tend to rely on
them primarily instead of eating solid foods which should be your
main focus. If you're taking 3-5 whey protein shakes everyday
for example, you are actually overdoing it. You don't need that
many shakes, just one or two should suffice. Other meals should
come from real foods like a chicken breast salad, sweet potatoes
things like that. You need a variety of nutrients in your body
for optimum muscle building. You can't rely mostly on protein
shakes for your nutrition regimen.
2nd
Reason:
Consuming
supplements too often can become heavy on the wallet as supplements
are not cheap. Eating real foods will still come cheaper. So if
you want your tub of whey protein to last longer, use it wisely.
3rd
Reason:
Certain
muscle building supplements contain artificial sweeteners like
Aspartame and this has been proven to be questionable for health,
so better avoid these.
