Protein
is the building block of muscle building and for the proper functioning
of our bodies. Body builders favorite foods are those which are
high in protein. Some good sources of high protein food include
lean red meat, skinless chicken or turkey breast, tuna, salmon,
white fish.
A 150 g salmon
fillet contains about 40 grams of protein and a can of tuna about
30-35 grams. Usually the type of protein food above contain between
30-40 grams on a serving of 150 grams.
Eggs are also
a great option but you need to take several of them because 1
egg has only about 6.5 grams of protein. Usually you will opt
for the egg whites and limiting the yolks to a maximum of 2 per
day. The egg white has about 3.5 grams of protein so if you need
30 grams of protein say in your breakfast, you will need to consume
about 10 egg whites or less but adding one or two yolks. The yolk
has about 2.6 grams of protein. Cottage cheese is also a good
choice since it's high in protein and low in fat.
